Authors mention- "Peptic ulcer patients have an elevated risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Moreover, there were associations of vagus nerve severance and decreased risk of subsequent type 2 diabetes in complicated peptic ulcer patients."

Can vagotomy cause remission of hyperglycemia !

In view of several gastrointestinal surgical procedures for the management of Diabetes Mellitus, the possibility of Vagotomy with gastro-jejunostomy to manage hyperglycemia, needs exploration.
