Author's manuscript is an extension of his previous series of papers on this topic. Even though the paper is quite long, it should be not shortened to avoid reader's misunderstandings and/or confusion. Obtained conclusions are correct and proposed discussion brings a light to this topic. I believe that this paper has an interdisciplinary impact and should be published.

Thermodynamic Function of Life- Comments

The article is very interesting although somewhat extensive. I
believe that the introduction should be strengthened by stating more
    clearly and emphatically the objectives.

Some calculations of the importance of the entropy production at the
surface of Earth due to living organic material compared to that due to
inorganic material should be presented to back up the claim that life on
Earth is important to its global entropy production.

Reference in the text was made to the seminal papers of Prigogine and
Babloyantz but it is not clear in what respect these works differ from, or
are related to, the work being presented.
