  • What are the main claims of the paper and how important are they?

Introduces the personal theory of the author based on 40 years of counseling. (p.2). The author calls this paper an essay. It is an essay of his personal theory of counseling.

  • Are these claims novel? If not, please specify papers that weaken the claims to the originality of this one.

The ideas are not novel to the scientific field. They are however, novel to the author who presents them, since they are his experiences. He is the sole subject for his essay.

  • Are the claims properly placed in the context of the previous literature?

The author descibes how he uses Rogers anf Jung's theory to do his work. This is not a scientific paper, it si a description of his personal daily work.

  • Do the results support the claims? If not, what other evidence is required?

The author should use a qualitativwe or quantitative strrategy to measure whether his approach is valid, reliable and can be used with other populations.

  • If a protocol is provided, for example for a randomized controlled trial, are there any important deviations from it? If so, have the authors explained adequately why the deviations occurred?

This essay does not have a methodology. It is a sample of one: the author.

  • Is the methodology valid? Does the paper offer enough details of its methodology that its experiments or its analyses could be reproduced?

This methodology is not valid, unless the author is able to articulate a hypothesis and conduct a study to test those hypothesis with a representative sample.

  • Would any other experiments or additional information improve the paper? How much better would the paper be if this extra work was done, and how difficult would such work be to do, or to provide?

This essay (p.2) is a good first step for a proposal to conduct an experiment. The author needs to generate some hypothesis based on hsi experiencce and review of the literature, a method for data collection, anaylis, and conclusions based on the findings of the research.

  • Is this paper outstanding in its discipline? (For example, would you like to see this work presented in a seminar at your hospital or university? Do you feel these results need to be incorporated in your next general lecture on the subject?) If yes, what makes it outstanding? If not, why not?

The essay has to become a scieentific paper before this question may be proposed.
