There are no references given to support their initial comments. Authors should add a list of references. The method had been tested in two student groups only. hence it is an initial observation only. Need further evaluation before making general recommendations. Because the method itself require much more time of both teachers and students. Wheteher a combination of a short lecture followed by this method could be better than JiTT alone need to be evaluated. However authors should be commended for trying out this new concept and the article is worth to be published as an initial observation for discussion and further research

The article by Kanagasabai S et al showed their promising experience in using the Just in Time Teaching (JiTT) method in (I assumed) the Melaka Manipal Medical College, Malaysia. In JiTT method, the students got twenty questions based on a lecture that would be given the next week. The students were expected to look for the answers from all available resources [1]. In this approach, the students should be active gathering information, as that happened in problem based learning (PBL) [2]. The difference is that in PBL the questions were elaborated by the students them- selves from a trigger.
This is an opinion, so there are no abstract, no figure, and no reference [1].
We have a similar method, before we started with the PBL and vertical integration in 2005 [3]. Before the year 2005 we adopted horizontal integration, and modified PBL, where we used triggers, but we also give questions to be answered by the students. As there were questions, most of the groups of students did not use the triggers at all.
In my opinion, JiTT method is better than using triggers, as it is difficult to make good triggers, and sometimes the triggers made the students to look for information that is ‘nice to know’, while the ‘must know’ information was neglected. However, the same as in PBL, the students should be active in gathering information. Therefore, student motivation and seriousness are very important in order to collect the needed information [4] that they ‘must know’ as a doctor.
