I would like to congratulate the author for bringing to our attention the impact of OR environment over the patients anxiety and outcome of anaesthesia. Music in day today life has its well known role on a common man's mood but this article clearly signifies how music and light environment in OR avoids anxiety of the patient thereby avoiding unnecessary sedation of the patient.

  • Other Comments: Music therapy has already found its place in Alternative Medicine and even in the mainstream allopathic medicine its beneficial use has been accepted by various authors. This article shows a pleasant and effective way of avoiding many anxiolytis, sedative which are being used traditionally in ORs to calm the patients in ORs, alongwith their side effects. We require some more prospective, constructed studies to become more familiar with the power of music.

I have OR experience of almost 10 years now as an anesthesiologist in various capacities. Now as a teacher I always try to tell my residents that the most important factor detrmining a successful anesthesia (specially regional) is good rappo between anesthesiologist and the patient and this is the duty of anesthesiologist to build and maintain that, by any possible and safe mean.
