Brief Biography:


Working as a Scientific Officer in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai from 2002 and published research article in high impact journals.

During last five years period he has published six papers (Cumulative Impact Factor 30.527)  in high impact international journals (5 papers in Biosensors Bioelectronics I.F. 5.361 and 1 paper in Talanta I.F. 3.722), 11 abstracts in Symposia, 1 Best poster award, 3 gene bank submission and deposited 2 new microbial cultures to MTCC.

Research interests:


  1. Development of microbial biosensors for detection of methyl parathion pesticide for environmental monitoring.
  2. Microbial isolation for hydrolysis of methyl parathion pesticide and its application in development of microbial biosensor.
  3. Developing a recombinant E.coli by cloning of opd gene for higher expression of organophosphorus hydrolase (OPH) enzyme for hydrolysis of pesticides and its application in development of microbial biosensor.
  4. Study of immobilization and stabilization of enzymes, microbial cells and oligonucleotides for biosensor applicaton.
  5. Study of natural and synthetic polymer/support/matrices for immobilization of biomolecules.
  6. Established inner epidermal membrane of onion bulb scale as an immobilizing support for microbial cells and enzymes and its application in biosensor for methyl parathion pesticide and glucose.
  7. Synthesis of PVA membrane for immobilization of enzyme for development of glucose biosensor.
