My reserach interests include Alzheimer's disease - efficacy of the new acetylcholine esterase inhibitor drugs; carer burden;Yawning - aetiology and link with other hormones;Stroke - developing computerised assessment and feedback techniques;Neuropsychological issues particularly in litigation;Oncology - chemo-brain phenomenon;Post-traumatic stress disorder at diagnosis of other diseases eg cancer.
I am an experienced Clinical Neuropsychologist and Consultant and have over 20 years clinical and research experience. I am currently Acting Head of Department, Bournemouth University. I have led the UK arm of the European Union funded project into Parkinson's disease. I have over 200 peer-reviewed paper published and over 20 books, three of which are adopted as core texts for occupational therapy and clinical psychology training in throughout the UK. I am also liaison for the University with Universite Nanterre, Parris, France for Alzheimer's disease research collaboration.
I think WebmedCentral's strategy and intentions are excellent and I applaud them. I would very much welcome becoming a Faculty Lead in eg Neurology, Psychology, or related discipline.
