Electronic publishing is rapidly becoming the norm. Physicians are increasingly using their computers to read or download electronic versions of medical articles leaving print versions sitting in their unopened plastic wrap in the bookshelf. As we see the use of print versions of journals continue to decline, the practical differences between purely online journals and traditional print journals will become less relevant. To date, electronic journals have been more proactive than traditional journals in creating optimal on-line functionality. It is my belief that on-line publishing is the future of medical publishing and I am eager to be a part of this.
