My primary focus is on Immunology research, in the areas of tolerance, autoimmunity and transplantation immunology. My lab has contributed to defining the mechanisms of immune tolerance and development of tolerance inducing protocols. Our studies have identified an important role for passenger lymphocytes and chimerism in transplant tolerance and immunity and provided insights into the role of ‘co-inhibitory’ receptors in immune control.
Long overdue to implement these ideas!
