Principal Investigator, “Novel nanoemulsion based formulations of tripeptide prodrugs for eradicating latent HIV reservoirs” , Bill Gates Foundation, Nov, 2011 - Nov, 2012 The main objective of this grant proposal is to engineer novel tripeptide-protease inhibitor prodrugs incorporated in self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery systems (SNEDDS) to enable eradication or depletion of the latent reservoir. Formulation Skills- Expertise and knowledge in the development and characterization of various novel drug delivery systems such as micro/nanoparticles, polymeric micelles and microemulsions. - Expertise in formulation of various dosage forms including syrups, solutions, eye drops and injections. - ANDA experience: Development of Risperidone oral solution (1 mg/mL) (currently approved for US market). - Pharmacokinetic Skills- Expertise and knowledge in cell culture techniques for drug delivery. - Expertise in carrying out micro-dissection and pharmacokinetics in rabbits and mice.
