CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS
•Development of novel drug delivery systems for treatment of pancreatic, prostrate, ovarian and colorectal cancer
•Application of nanotechnology in the development of targeted and/or controlled delivery systems for protein and peptide molecules
•Design of lipid- or polymer-based micro/nanoparticles to improve the therapeutic properties of drugs
•Development of novel tripeptide-protease inhibitor prodrugs incorporated in self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery systems (SNEDDS) that will enable eradication or depletion of the latent HIV reservoir

The main objective of this grant proposal is to engineer novel tripeptide-protease inhibitor prodrugs incorporated in self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery systems (SNEDDS) to enable eradication or depletion of the latent reservoir. There is no scientific and budgetary overlap with current proposal. Amount requested: $ 100, 000.00, Status: Under review

Research interests:


I have a strong teaching and research experience in Pharmaceutics, Drug delivery, Nanotechnology, and Pharmacokinetics.

Formulation Skills
- Expertise and knowledge in the development and characterization of various novel drug delivery systems such as micro/nanoparticles, polymeric micelles and microemulsions.
- Expertise in formulation of various dosage forms including syrups, solutions, eye drops and injections.
- ANDA experience: Development of Risperidone oral solution (1 mg/mL) (currently approved for US market).
- Pharmacokinetic Skills
- Expertise and knowledge in cell culture techniques for drug delivery.
- Expertise in carrying out micro-dissection and pharmacokinetics in rabbits and mice.

Analytical Skills
- HPLC, UV spectroscopy, spectrofluorimetry, particle size analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), osmometry, confocal fluorescence microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), radioactive assay, LC-MS/MS. Extraction techniques: Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) and liquid-liquid extraction
