Brief Biography:
Dr. S.H. Fatemi is currently an Associate Head for Neuroscience and Translational Research in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Moreover, he is a Professor of Psychiatry, Pharmacology, and Neuroscience. He received his Ph.D. in Human Anatomy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and his M.D. from Case Western Reserve University Medical School. Over the last 15 years, his research has been focused on the identification and elucidation of etiologies for major psychiatric disorders such as Schizophrenia and Autism, as well as mood disorders. His current studies also focus on the development of animal models of psychiatric disorders and mapping of brain genes and proteins that may be important in the etiology and treatment of these disorders.
