Mr. Christopher Papandreou

Brief Biography:


Christopher Papandreou, RD, has a PhD in Public Health Sciences from the University of Crete where his research focused on the effectiveness of the Mediterranean diet on Obstructive Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome.  He has also a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Metabolism from the University of Aberdeen where he was involved in the Rascal project with a focus on the associations between sleep duration, physical activity and obesity in children and adults. During his doctorate he participated as research assistant in the 50-year follow-up of the Seven Countries Study and other studies. He has a 3-year teaching experience in tertiary education and has authored and co-authored research articles.

His research interests include: intervention studies promoting the Mediterranean diet and other health-promoting eating patterns as well as physical activity, investigation of consumers’ nutrition information needs for the design of appropriate interventions for the modification of dietary behavior, investigation of the effect of nutrition intervention studies on risk factors for chronic disease, nutrition of specific population groups, as children and aged people
