Dr. Michelle Green

Brief Biography:


Dr. Green lives in the Washington, DC metro area. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Texas Tech University in 1996 after interning at Children’s Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Upon graduation, she served as the research lead for a meta-analytic study of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) conducted by the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She completed her postdoctoral residency in clinical psychology at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI) on the acute inpatient unit, providing psychological assessment and psychotherapy to adults with chronic, severe mental illness. After staying at NVMHI to work as a licensed psychologist for two years, Dr. Green moved on to become a staff psychologist and the director of the externship training program at Northwest Community Mental Health Center in Reston, VA. She subsequently owned a private practice for five years, gradually transitioning into teaching online. She has been an adjunct faculty member for the graduate programs in counseling psychology at Argosy University’s Washington, DC campus since 1999. She has been a full-time faculty member for Argosy University Online since 2006. During 2008-2009, she served as the Online Assistant Dean for the College of College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences and the College of Undergraduate Studies. She enjoys teaching, serving on dissertation committees, consulting as a subject matter expert on new course development, and conducting research on assessing student learning outcomes and the effectiveness of online delivery of higher education.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


The concept of open access is quite appealing to me. I believe it is the next best thing in higher education and continuing education. The peer review process is absolutely necessary, and I respect the care that has been obviously taken in developing the design of WebmedCentral's peer review hierarchy and procedures. I would be honored to participate in any way that would be beneficial to WebmedCentral's mission.
