Brief Biography:
Dr Rakesh Kakkar, MD is an Associate professor, Department of community medicine, HIMS, Dehradun Co-author of adolescent facilitators guide & Handbook for counsellors for GOI ; First Aid manual for Drivers in Hilly Areas. He has presented several research papers in national & international conferences and published various research articles related to Adolescent health, geriatric health in indexed journals. Attended several training programme on Rehabilitation; AIDS; HSR (Nordic school of public health, Goteborg, Sweden and Karolinska institutet, Stockholm, Sweden). He has designed & implemented several innovative research projects in the community as Principal & co-investigator with Governmental (ICMR AIIMS, MOHFW-GOI) as well as NGOs viz. UNICEF, IIHMR ; FPAI ; CARE; W.H.O.; APCRI India & INCLEN related to adolescent health , Public-Private Partnership; gender aspects of tuberculosis; “National Health facility Survey”,; HIV/AIDS awareness etc.

- Developed Model of Public-Private Partnership for improved Management of ARI and Diarrhoel diseases in under 5 children in PHC Narwar of Ujjain District (MP)
Engaged in research work related to Rural health & Training centre attached to Palwa Demographic surveillance site (DSS) catering 72,000 population under R. D. Gardi Medical College, Ujjain (2004-06)
