Brief Biography:

Dr. Shukla, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at the Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Haryana, India. Currently, Dr. Shukla is working as visiting Research Scientist at Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA. Dr. Shukla has earned his Ph.D. degree in 2007 in Life Sciences and his research work was to understand the molecular mechanism of multidrug resistance in pathogenic fungus Candida albicans. Dr. Shukla then joined National Caner Institute, NIH, Bethesda, U.S.A., for his postdoctoral training. Dr. Shukla’s in his postdoctoral studies investigated as how endosome protein TMBIM1 regulates the trafficking of death receptor CD95. In other studies he discovered crucial proteins in central nervous system responsible to mediate long-term radiation induced neurotoxic effects and cognitive dysfunction. Additionally, his research also demonstrates that Sirtuin2, a class III deacetylase, is a potential target to minimize Radiation induced neurotoxic effects. Currently, Dr. Shukla is investigating as how O-GlcNac modification in cRel promotes inflammatory responses and beta cell death in Type1 diabetes under hyperglycemic condition. Dr. Shukla has published all his research in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Shukla is serving as reviewers of various reputed journals viz Frontiers in Microbiology, Cogent Biology, Vaccine and Bioanalysis. Dr. Shukla has been recipient of various awards/fellowships in his career so far. He has also been invited for various presentations and talks. Dr. Shukla holds the membership of American Society for Cancer Research. Dr. Shukla’s research interests include multidrug resistance, cancer biology and inflammatory diseases.
