Dr. Elahe Crockett

Brief Biography:


Dr. Crockett has been a research scientist, educator and administrator throughout her career. She received a BS degree in Medical Technology, and after working for WHO and in a children?s hospital Pathology Dept., she pursued a Master?s degree in Clinical lab Science. She then studied for a Ph.D degree in human Anatomy followed by an NIH postdoctoral training in immunopathology under the mentorship of two physician scientists. She has had an independently funded research program from 1991-2008 working in the areas of leukocyte biology, inflammation and tissue injury. She has trained many graduate students and served as a major advisor and many more as committee member. Additionally, she has administrative experience working with medical professionals, graduate students, and academic staff. She has developed graduate and advanced courses in medical sciences and directed the Master?s program in the Surgery Dept. at the College of Human Medicine (CHM). Further, she developed and directed an integrated MD/PHD program at CHM (2007-2010). Dr. Crockett has a unique combination of 35 years of experience in clinical and basic science, as well as administrative skills. Moreover, She has a passion for art and enjoys painting during her leisure time.
