The authors report on stump appendizitis. From the differential diagnostic point of view it is important to think about that rare complication after appendectomy. The diagnostic tool of choice is computed tomography. The authors further highline the technical points of the procedure to avoid that complication. It is very important to cut the appendix vermiformis on its base and to engulf the stump, which can be very difficult in extensive inflammatory process.
