  • What are the main claims of the paper and how important are they?

Role of Glia in Reproduction which seems important however this review has left out the sencond part therapeutic potentials in humans.

  • Are these claims novel? If not, please specify papers that weaken the claims to the originality of this one.

No claims this is a review

  • Are the claims properly placed in the context of the previous literature?

Review has been organized however the therapeutic potential of glia in reproduction is poorly mentioned

  • Do the results support the claims? If not, what other evidence is required?

    There are no results

  • If a protocol is provided, for example for a randomized controlled trial, are there any important deviations from it? If so, have the authors explained adequately why the deviations occurred?

    Not applicable

  • Is the methodology valid? Does the paper offer enough details of its methodology that its experiments or its analyses could be reproduced?

No methodology the authors used only pubmed for their search which has limited the published material

  • Would any other experiments or additional information improve the paper? How much better would the paper be if this extra work was done, and how difficult would such work be to do, or to provide?

Authors should have included other search engines for their search

  • Is this paper outstanding in its discipline? (For example, would you like to see this work presented in a seminar at your hospital or university? Do you feel these results need to be incorporated in your next general lecture on the subject?) If yes, what makes it outstanding? If not, why not?

    paper is good

  • Other Comments:

The conclusions are too long. Many sentences are not supported with pertinent references. There are problems at many places with the language making the sense redundant. It would have been better if authors had included therapeutic strategies or their own clinical data to make this review more useful.

  • What are the main claims of the paper and how important are they?

This is a review article about the role of glia in reproduction and its human therapeutic potentials.

  • Are these claims novel? If not, please specify papers that weaken the claims to the originality of this one.

    NA

  • Are the claims properly placed in the context of the previous literature?

    NA

  • Do the results support the claims? If not, what other evidence is required?

More detailed study of litratures based on role of glia in reproduction needs to be done.

  • If a protocol is provided, for example for a randomized controlled trial, are there any important deviations from it? If so, have the authors explained adequately why the deviations occurred?

    NA

    NA

Studies on particulary on mammalian model like rat system needs to be elaborated and discussed as some of the important findings are missing. For example,

Role of oxytocin in female sexual development and its effect is mediated by a mechanism involving glial production of PGE2. Parent et al., 2008.

Figures are of poor quality and they are not in publication quality, figures can be redrawn with the original citation.

I have concerns about the writing as I found author just took some sentences line by line from the available literatures written by others not only in the abstract section but also in the main text. Author could have presented his/her own thoughts and analysis by his/her own words by taking the facts from the available literatures, as that’s the way of reviewing on a particular subject.

There are few examples of literatures from where the portion of the texts were taken:

    Prevot et al., 2010. J Neuroendocrinol. 2010 July; 22(7):a639–649.

    Garcia-Segura et al., (2008). Reproduction 135: 419–429.

Ojeda et al., (2010). European Journal of Neuroscience. 12/2010; 32(12):2003-10.

Good protocol with no deviations mensioned. no meta- analysis which weakens the review.

Yes meta-analysis is despreatly needed , which would improve the paper extremely.

  • Is this paper outstanding in its discipline? (For example, would you like to see this work presented in a seminar at your hospital or university? Do you feel these results need to be incorporated in your next general lecture on the subject?) If yes, what makes it outstanding? If not, why not?

No many papers used as references in this paper visited the same subject.
