Brief Biography:


Prof. M. Nageeb Rashed. Professor of Environmental and Analytical Chemistry, Vice-Dean for Environmental Affairs, Faculty of Science, Aswan. South Valley University,Egypt. Prof. Rashed experiences in:-1 monitoring and assessment of biological trace elements and toxic metals in human blood, urines, water, crops, vegetables and medicinal plants. 2-relationships between environments (heavy metals) and human diseases. 3- Ecotoxology of heavy metals. 4-Uses of biological indicators for monitoring water pollution. 5-Environmental chemistry of lakes, rivers and wells water. He Supervisor of several M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis in the field of pollution, analytical and environmental chemistry. 60 scientific papers were published in international journals and conferences. Prof. Rashed acts as a consultant of Environmental Science and Environmental health for NGOs, as well as a lecturer for awareness and environmental program for villages, school students and farmers. He organized a session “Water Pollution and Control in Developing Countries” In: 3ed World Water Forum,Kyoto,Japan, 16-24 March 2003. Prof.Rashed joined the Editorial Board of several journals ( Encyclopedia of Earth,USA, Journal of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology (JECE), Journal of Environmental and Earth Sciences, Research Journal of Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology. Maxwell Science Publishers, Journal of Environmental Protection (IJEP). Journal of water resources and protection (JWARP). His Society membership includes Egyptian Society of Analytical Chemistry, Intern. Soild Waste Association, 2001, Egyptian Society of Environmental Toxicants 2005, Asia Pacific Association of Hydrology and Water Resources (APHW), 2003, The World Association of Soil and Water Conservation (WASWC),Thailand, 2002, Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC), and Arab Healthy Water Association (AHWA).Prof.Rashe Awarded The Egyptian National Award for Environmental Researches for the year 2001.

Research interests:


Biomarkers (heavy metals)- the role of trace elements in diseases- the environmnetal health (heavy metals, water, blood, urine)- trace elements and heavy metals in medicinal and herbal plants
