Prof. Rakesh Pandey

Brief Biography:


Rakesh Pandey is presently a Professor of Psychology at Banaras Hindu University. He has published numerous research papers in the area of psychology and neuropsychology related to such topics and constructs as alexithymia, emotional intelligence, hemispheric asymmetry in perception and expression of emotion. perceptual asymmetry in depression, stress-health relationship, subjective well-being.

His present research is focused on exloring the role of various emotional constructs (such as emotion regulation, emotional processing, positive-negative affect, alexithymia, emotional intelligence etx.) in relaton to health and well-being.  Apart from this he is also intrested in exploring the psychophysiological dynamics of certian affective deficits and disorders.

Prof. Pandey is recepient of several awards and research fellowships such as Young Scientist Award (IAAP), SIS Research Award etc.

He is also involved in editorial activities in various capacities with several journals. For example, he is Editor-in-Cheif of the "Indian Journal of Social Science Researches", Editor to SIS Journal of Projective Psychology and Mental Health, and Assistant Editor to Asia and Pacific Journal of Social Sciences. To extend a helping hand to the scientific community he also help several journals by undertaking the review of papers submitted to such journal as Pscyhological Studies, Learning and Individual Differences, Personality and Individual Differences etc.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


To provide opportunity to publish papers without the conventional peer revie process that make accesible the data for furher analysis and review such as metal analysis that otherwise remains unaccessible to the scieintific community.

The post-publication review process provides ample scope for attracting a wider review of articles.
