Prof. Csaba Farsang

Brief Biography:


Csaba Farsang is Head of the Internal Medicine and Cardiometabolic Centre at the St. Imre Teaching Hospital, Budapest. Professor Farsang received his M.D. in 1967 and Ph.D. in 1978. He has been trained for clinical pharmacology from the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, McGill University, Montreal, Canada in 1978-1979.  Prior to his current positions, he was the Head of the 1st Department of Internal Medicine at Semmelweis University Medical School. He was awarded a D.Sc. in 1984 by the Hungarian National Academy. He became Professor of Medicine in 1989 in 2nd Department of Internal Medicine at Semmelweis University Medical School.

Professor Farsang is a member of both the International and European Societies of Hypertension, serving as an Educational Committee Member for the European Society, and is also a member of the European Society of Cardiology, International Society for Heart Research, International Society of Vascular Health, and the International Society of Angiology. In addition, he is a member of a number of national societies, including the Hungarian Society of Hypertension (Honorary Life-Time President) and the Hungarian Society for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology (Past President), Hung. Soc. Internal Medicine.

Professor Farsang has published more than 45 books and chapters on his research and well over 200 papers in medical and scientific journals.
