Brief Biography:
I trained in Gastroenterology and G(I)M in London, Cambridge and Norwich. I was a research fellow at the Hammersmith Hospital in London and at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, studing gastrointestinal peptides.
Since 2011 I have worked as a Consultant and Senior Lecturer in the Norwich Medical School and associated teaching hospital, combining clinical work, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as supervising a research laboratory performing translational gastroenterological research.

Research interests:
Clinical and basic aspects of many aspects of luminal gastroenterology.
Peptic ulcer disease, H pylori infection, NSAID-induced GI disease, benign oeosphageal disease, gastrointestinal pharmacology.
Acute upper GI bleeding, management and investigation of anaemia.
Microscopic colitis, inflammatory bowel diseases and the effects of systemic diseases on the GI tract.
The links between obesity and gastrointestinal diseases, especially Barrett's oesophagus and oesophageal adenocarcinoma.
Cell biology and physiology of gastrointestinal peptide hormones and adipose-tissue derived mediators.
What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:
This is an exciting initiative. The publishing, dissemination and discusison opportunities offered by this process will be of utmost use to researchers and trainees and I hope many people engage with it.
