Dr. Ahmed Khalil

Brief Biography:


I received my MBBS in 2010 from the University of Medical Sciences & Technology. I am currently a graduate student at the Charité Medical University in Berlin, Germany where I am studying Medical Neurosciences. I also studied Neuropsychopharmacology (MSc) at the Université Bordeaux Segalen and Internal Medicine (MSc) at the University of Edinburgh. My research involves clinical and preclinical investigation of cerebrovascular disorders such as vascular dementia and ischemic stroke. I am on the Editorial Board of two international journals and peer-reviewer in several more.

 

Academic positions:


Research Fellow, RCRU (UMST) - Involved in training RCRU interns on systematic reviews and general research principles.

Research Intern, Centre for Stroke Research Berlin

Research Intern, Department of Experimental Neurology, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin

 

Research interests:


Neurology, Neuroradiology, Clinical neurophysiology, Perfusion MRI, Non-invasive brain imaging, stroke, cerebrovascular disorders

 

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


When I first heard of WMC, I was shocked. I had never known that such a thing existed. Guaranteed publication? And within 48 hours? All this, and maintaining an honest, efficient peer-review process. I had to see it for myself, and now that I have, I want to be a part of this brilliance.
