Brief Biography:

A.M.Jana, B.V.Sc & AH ( Cal Univ);M.V.Sc ( Bact) and Ph.D ( Agra Univ.). Worked as a Scientist at DRDE, Gwalior ( Under DRDO, Min. Defence, Govt.India) during 1977 to 2005( as Head Division of Microbiology during 1988 to1984 and then of Virology 1995 to 2005, including DBT overseas Fellow/ visiting Scientist at NIMR London during 1987 to 1989; Joint Dir.DRDE- 2001 to 2005). Recepient of IICAR , CSIR and DBT fellowship in India.completed 12 Research projects; Guided 8 M.Sc, 2 MD and 5 Ph.D students; got 50 publication to my credit, written Book Chapter-3;Patent-1, Test kits-2, Papers presented in conferences-37.Developed high containment facility and scale-up facility at DRDE, Gwalior, MP, India. Also worked as paper setter/ examiner of various Univs.;reviewer of Research papers; chairman /members of selection/ assessment Boards.Member of Varios Professional and Scientific societies.

Research interests:

During my desertation work for my Master Degree I had worked on "Studies of non-specific immunity against Salmonella enteritidis infection"; in my Ph.D studies Worked on " Certain imunological studies on Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis infection in animals";during my service period at DRDE I had worked on various projects of Enterovirus infection, Rota vrus infection in humans, equine rhinopneumonitis virus infection in horses and mules; influenza ane arbo viral infection in humans. At present I am guiding a Ph.D student to work on human papilloma virises.
