Brief Biography:


Received Master degree in Bio-Sciences in 1998 from Mysore University, India. Received Ph.D. from Department of Biochemistry in 2003, Mysore University, India with specialization in tumor microenvironment and protein biochemistry.

 

Academic positions:


Research associate in the department of pathology, Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, Missouri (2003 -2006).  Research Staff in the departments of Orthopedics, Microbiology and Immunology, Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, Pennsylvania (2006-20012).  Currently working as a senior research Staff in the department of Medicine/Medical Oncology, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, UMDNJ, The cancer institute of New Jersey.

 

Research interests:


Cancer microenvironment with special interests in extracellular cellular matrix alterations during tumor development.

Interested in developing Monoclonal antibody therapy for cancer, cancer biomarker development and validation.

Interested in understanding the role of tissue microenvironment during organ development.

Stem cell technology and interested in developing cell culture model to understand Hepatitis B Virus infection and liver cancer.

Interested in understanding the structure-functional relationship of a protein molecule using structural biology tools.

Biography and achievements were included in 2011 edition of Marquis Who’s Who in America.  Co-inventor of first of its kind anti-cancer Monoclonal antibody and the protein that overexpresses in twelve different types of human cancers.  Serving as a peer reviewer for several biomarker and cancer related journals.  

 

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


I like the idea of post publication peer-review because it gives the freedom for authors to exchange their findings regardless of its nature (ex. controversial findings or negative data).  On the other hand, authors will have opportunities to ask the right question by interacting with expertise in their field.
