Brief Biography:
Dr. Jixun Zhan received a Ph.D. degree in biochemical engineering in 2003 from East China University of Science and Technology. After postdoctoral training at the University of Arizona (in natural products chemistry, 2003-2006) and the University of California, Los Angeles (in natural products biosynthesis, 2006-2008), he became an assistant professor in the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He then moved to Utah State University in August 2008 and has been working as an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Engineering since then. Dr. Zhan’s research is focused on discovery and biosynthesis of bioactive natural products. He has published 52 research articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of the American Chemical Society and Journal of Natural Products.
