What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:

The internet and its related technologies has allowed scientific collaboration with an ease that scientists could never have imagined even 25 years ago. However, the traditional publishing models have not kept pace with these changes, severely limiting the promise of our new inter-connectivity. WebmedCentral is the first of the potential solutions to this problem. This ingenious concept allows for the rapid dissemination of ideas and discoveries, and equally important, allows each scientist the ability to judge the merits of research for himself rather than relying on the judgment of an editorial board and reviewers such as at a traditional journal. While there may always be a market for traditional scientific publishing, I definitely see WebmedCentral as a step forward and a model for the future.
