Brief Biography:


Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Asif is a professor of Molecular Medicine and head of the Clinical Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry research group at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG). Beside this, he is responsible for various diagnostic units at the central laboratory of University Medical Center Göttingen. Previously, He did his PhD from UMG in 2004 in a German Research Foundation funded project. In 2010, he was awarded venia legendi (Priv.-Doz.) for in Molecular Medicine. Prof. Asif has extensive experience in the field of proteomics, in particular differential protein profiling, target elucidation and characterization of post-translational modifications of proteins. His research focuses on identifying novel molecular targets of drugs, protein - protein and protein – drug interactions, immuno-proteomics for identification of new diagnostic and vaccine targets. His research group is collaborating with several national and international partners in wide range of clinical research topics. He has authored and co-authored more than 65 peer reviewed articles on clinical proteomics and molecular medicine.
