Brief Biography:
Professor Sanchez is a physician and surgeon with a broad range of interests at the nexus of clinical medicine and organizational dynamics. He has held a number of leadership and executive positions at major medical centers and serves on various national study groups, panels, and committees focused on quality, patient safety, and comparative effectiveness research. Widely published in the scientific literature, his biomedical research interests revolve around the molecular mechanisms in protecting the myocardium against oxidative stress. Over a decade ago, his research laboratory demonstrated the effectiveness of pharmacologic agents in preconditioning the heart against ischemia.
