Biography:


Dr Yatan Pal Singh Balhara is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry working with Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) and SSK Hospital, New Delhi, India.

After completing his MBBS he did his residency training (MD) in Psychiatry from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He has also qualified for the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) of the National Board of Examination (NBE) in Psychiatry. He has finished my three year senior residency from AIIMS in the year 2009. He has served as Specialist Psychiatrist at PGIMER and Dr RML Hospital, New Delhi, India for 14 month period before joining LHMC and SSK Hospital, New Delhi, India.

Dr Balhara was awarded VIDYA SAGAR GOLD medal award for the performance during residency (MD) in Psychiatry at AIIMS, New Delhi. I was also awarded Silver medal for securing the second position overall in the University in the first professional MBBS; Silver medal for securing the second position overall in the University in the final professional MBBS; Bronze medal for securing the maximum marks in Anatomy in the University MBBS;Bronze medal for securing the maximum marks in Gynaecology and Obstetrics in the University MBBS.

Hehas been involved in academic, clinical and research activities in field of Psychiatry and substance abuse. He has had the privilege to work with the UNODC and NACO on a National level project.

He has been serving on review board of various national and international journals.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


The philosophy floated by webmed central seems to be an interesting one. It is an innovative idea. At the same time I would say that it should be put to the test of real test in terms of assessing whtehr it is able to serve its purpose. I owuld be interested in going on with it ans see how it works out.
