Biography:


I was born in Athens, Greece on December 9, 1974. I hold a B.Sc. in Biology (1997), a M.Sc. in Biostatistics (2001) and a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics (2005) from University of Athens, Greece. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Biology at the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics of the University of Central Greece.

 

Academic positions:


Current Position Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics, University of Central Greece. Past Positions Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics, University of Central Greece. Visiting Lecturer at the Hellenic Open University Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Technology, University of Peloponnese. Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Cell Biology and Biophysics, Faculty of Biology, University of Athens.

 

Research interests:


 My main research interests include prediction of protein structure and function from the primary sequence, development of stochastic models for analyzing biological sequences, large-scale genome analyses and  development of methodology and software for genetic association and gene expression studies.

 

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


This is a very interesting idea that needs to be tested.
