Brief Biography:
Prof. Dr. Masood Akhtar currently working as Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan. He earned his PhD degree in Parasitology with speclization in Immuno-Parasitology. He is having over >20 years of experience in teaching and research. He is the recipient of PAMS Junior Gold Medal and a Bursary from Pakistan Academy of Medical Sciences in recognition of the best research paper by a junior biomedical scientist of Pakistan during the year 1999. He was awarded AMBO fellowship from Asian Molecular Biology Organization, Japan to participate in 23rd International Training Course on “Molecular Microbiology in Genome and Post-Genome Era”. In year 2005, Higher Education Commission, Govt. of Pakistan awarded fellowship for postdoctoral studies at Lincoln University, New Zealand. As an author/co-author, he has published more than 70 research papers in journals of national and international repute and a couple of books/monographs/booklets. His current research work focus on the development of parasitic vaccines and evaluation of natural immunomodulators in poultry.
