If notified by a user of a communication (article or review or comment) which does not conform to the terms and conditions of the use of this portal, we will investigate the allegation and determine, in our sole discretion, whether to remove or request the removal of such communication. We at Webmed Limited take your privacy very seriously. We only ask that personal information of our authors and reviewers which are essential to attribute the information published by us. One does not require registering with us for reading, downloading or printing an article. Nor do these functions require the user's browser to be set to accept cookies.

1. Collecting Information

Webmed Limited gathers and tracks information/data that users provide through registration, comment submission or article submission on our portal. Submission of articles and reviewing an article with us requires certain basic information as well as the use of cookies. It is important to obtain this data so that any information published on the portal can be clearly attributed. It would help our readers evaluate the information properly. Certain aspects of our services also require the use of cookies. Certain other information’s are sought to provide you with a better service and you can choose to decline to provide this information.

Users are however advised that they may not be able to use all the features of this portal if you decline to provide some basic information. To provide you with the highest standards of service, we collect information regarding the patterns of usage on our portal. This enables us to identify the most popular articles and services.

•Registration, Reviews/Comment Submission and Article Submission

We require authors to register with us before they can submit an article or post a review or comment on our portal. Apart from that we require some additional information regarding authors who want to post individual reviews or comments and/or articles to attribute the information on our portal properly in the interest of maintaining ethical and high quality scientific exchanges. Information collected in the registration process is never shared with third parties in a personally identifiable way.

•Electronic newsletters

We offer free email alerts on our articles and newsletters to our readers. You can register for these services by just submitting your email id online. To provide this service, we must gather the email addresses of users who register for and voluntarily subscribe to said service. You may remove yourself from our mailing list at any time by following the instructions provided at the end of every newsletter.

•Usage tracking

We use traffic analysis software on our servers to track user traffic patterns throughout all of our sites. This information is not correlated with personal information about specific individual users.

2. Displaying the information

The name and credentials of all WebmedCentral Community members (authors, reviewers, advisors, faculty etc) will be available freely on our portal. These details are made available purely to facilitate scientific communication and to provide credentials to every manuscript published on our portal.  Collecting these e-mail addresses for commercial purposes is not permitted. We will ourselves never send unsolicited e-mail to our authors, unless it directly concerns the paper they have published with us. We also collect a number of information from our reviewers. Apart from some basic information, most of the other information is voluntary. The purpose of obtaining these is to enable our readers to evaluate the reviews/comments. This is in the interest of completely transparent communication practices in biomedical sciences. By submitting this information to us, authors automatically give their consent for these to be displayed on our portal. At any stage before the review/comment/article goes online, they can refuse to submit any or all of the required information. They would understandably in such situation not be able to use all parts of the portal. Authors are warned that it is entirely possible that some people may get access to this information displayed on the portal and misuse it. We do not take any responsibility for any direct or indirect damages to you or anybody else may suffer as a result.

3. Sharing of the information

We use the above described information to tailor our content to suit your needs and help our advertisers better understand our audience's demographics. This is essential to maintain our services at the current low cost. We do not share information about individual users with any third party. We will however divulge information only as necessary to comply with state, national, and international laws. WebmedCentral reserves the right to disclose members' personal information if required to do so by law, or in the good faith and belief that such action is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, respond to claims, or protect the rights, property or safety of Webmed limited, or any of its customers or suppliers its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, employees or members.

Alternatively the submitting person may have the copyright of the article/video/review/comment transferred to them by the authors. In such cases, we would like to see the copyright transfer document. Please upload the document when asked to do so during the article submission process. It is solely the responsibility of the person submitting article/video/review comment to ensure that no third party copyrights are violated.

The content (article/video/review/comment) may have been published elsewhere. You can submit any article/video/review to us, as long as it does not infringe any existing copyright or any other third party rights. In this regard, WebmedCentral perpetually authorises LOCKSS members to arcive and restore all publications on our portal through the LOCKSS system.
